As the excessive heat warning continues to effect the Southwest, including Las Vegas, you will likely find that you and your little ones want to beat this heatwave with a dip in the pool. While this summertime activity is a great way to enjoy such blazing temperatures, there are precautions that we should all take. Especially for the parents of particularly small children, under the age of 4, you should be sure to follow safety precautions and exercise caution in and around any pool activity.
Even when you are not in your swimming pool, your little one may easily find their way into a pool that doesn’t have a protective barrier or gate around it. While you are enjoying the water this summer be sure to follow the A, B, C and D’s of Water Safety and be sure to get your pool ready by getting emergency equipment and having it on hand.
Unfortunately these warnings and reminders came too late for the parents of a toddler in Northwest Las Vegas that found their child floating in the deep end of their pool late on Sunday night, but it isn’t too late for you. If you have young children, pets or just want to ensure that there is a safety barrier between your pool and potential dangers, installing a safety fence is a fast, affordable solution.
